Our commitment

Cureva exists primarily for seniors and the families who care for them. That means accessibility is not a compliance checkbox. It is the most fundamental design requirement we have. We build every feature assuming the person using it may have reduced vision, limited fine motor control, or limited experience with technology.

Standards we target

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA for our website and web-based interfaces. For our mobile app, we follow Apple's iOS Human Interface Guidelines for accessibility and Android Accessibility Guidelines, both of which align with WCAG 2.1 principles.

What we have built

Keyboard navigation

All interactive elements on the Cureva website are accessible via keyboard. Focus states are clearly visible, meeting the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast requirement of 3:1 for UI components.

Screen reader support

All images have descriptive alt text. All icons include aria-labels. Form fields have associated labels. The page structure uses semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, section, footer) to provide logical reading order for screen readers.

Colour contrast

Text on the Cureva website meets the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. We do not rely on colour alone to convey information.

Text sizing

Text on the Cureva website can be resized up to 200% using browser zoom without loss of content or functionality.

Reduced motion

All animations on the website respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who have set their operating system to reduce motion will see minimal or no animations.

Touch targets

Interactive elements in the Cureva app meet the minimum recommended touch target size of 44x44 points, reducing errors for users with reduced fine motor control.

Language support

Eva speaks 20 languages, including common languages for communities where seniors may be more comfortable in their native tongue than in English. Language detection is automatic.

Known limitations

We are a small team and we acknowledge that some areas of our product may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Known areas we are actively improving:

• Some data visualization components (charts in doctor reports) do not yet have full screen reader alternatives. We are adding text-based data tables alongside all charts.
• The Eva voice interface in the app requires working audio. A text-only mode is on our roadmap.
